يكثر البحث هذه الأيام عن الأنساب والأصول، والتي يطلق عليها البعض شجرة العائلة، وهي واحدة من الأمور التي تشغل بال وتفكير المصريين، وذلك مفهوم في إطار توثيق المعرفة أو الفضول، وأيضا لتاريخ مصر نفسه الحافل بالأنبياء والملوك.

ويمكننا ذلك عن طريق البحث في أشهر وأهم قاعدة للبيانات عبر دار المحفوظات بالرقم القومي، لكن المشكلة أن الموقع يتطلب في بعض الأوراق إضافة عدة معلومات عن الأجداد، وهو من الطلبات المحيرة للبعض، إذ لا أحد بشكل مؤكد يعرف عن أصول عائلته القديمة.
كيف أعرف نسبي من دار المحفوظات
- الذهاب إلى السجل المدني بمنطقة العباسية.
- الذهاب برفقة أحد المقربين، لأنه ربما يتم سؤاله عن صلة القرابة بالإسم ،وينبغي أن يكون معه شهادة ميلاد موضحة الإسم الأخير.
- بعد ذلك سيتم تحويل السائل إلى دار المحفوظات قسم الوثائق بمنطقة القلعة.

وهو من أشهر المواقع التي توفر نفس خدمة البحث في هذا المجال ولكن بكفاءة أعلى من أي موقع آخر، وإليك الخطوات بالترتيب لمعرفة كيفية البحث عن النسب على الإنرنت في هذا الموقع.
- الدخول إلى الموقع، ومن خلال الصفحة الرئيسية ينقر الشخص المستعلم فوق خانة البحث، ثم يكتب الإسم الذي يرغب في معرفته.
2. فى النتائج سوف يظهر لك العديد من النتائج الخاصة بهذا الإسم، مع الدول التي ينتمي إليها ضمن أسماء أخرى مشابهة. كما ويبين لك الموقع عدد الأسماء أو العائلات المتواجدة في بلدك.
3. بعد ذلك انقر فوق الأيقونة الخاصة بالبلد (العلم).
4. ستظهر لك خريطة العالم، بألوان مظللة ومنتشرة تشير إلى جميع العائلات التي تحمل نفس الإسم.
5. قم بالتكبير قليلا لتعرف البقاع الجغرافية التي تتواجد بها العائلة.
6. ستجد أيضا أسفل الخريطة قائمة مرتبة ومصنفة بأسماء هذه الدول على الخريطة، والموزعة في جميع أنحاء العالم.
