المصريون القدماء وأثناء عملية التحنيط كانوا يقومون بفصل الأعضاء مثل الكبد والرئتين عن الجسد ووضعهم في جرارات، وكان لكل جرار رأس تقوم بحماية ما يوجد داخل الجرار.
أما القلب فقد كانوا يبقون عليه داخل الجسد، لاعتقادهم أن القلب في البعث سوف يوزن لمعرفة إذا كان هذا الشخص قد عاش حياة كريمة أم لا.
اللوحات الجدارية
الطعام: الفراعنة كانوا يعتقدون أن رحلة البعث أو الحياة الآخرة طويلة لذلك كانوا يقومون بوضع الطعام والنبيذ للمتوفى في المقبرة لكي تساعدهم في رحلة البعث.
الملابس والمجوهرات: المصريون القدامي كانوا يقومون بدفن الملابس الأنيقة والزينة، والذهب مع الفرعون لكي يتمكن من السفر إلى الحياة الآخرة وهو بكامل أناقته، وفي مقبرة الملك توت عنخ آمون وجد بداخلها أكثر من خمسين قطعة من أرقى أنواع الثياب بالإضافة إلى بعض القفازات والسترات وأغطية الرأس.
القوارب
العطور والزيوت: كان المصريون القدماء يحرصون على وضع العطور والزيوت بجانب جثث موتاهم، ويحرصون على أن تكون هذه العطور من أفخم الأنواع، وفي مقبرة توت عنخ آمون عثر على زجاجة عطور كان يتبقى منها القليل، بعد اجراء الفحوصات والأبحاث عليها تبين أنها مصنوعة من زيت جوز الهند واللبان.
الأسلحة: يدفن الفرعون وبجانبه الأسلحة، وذلك لحمايتهم أثناء رحلتهم الطويلة إلى الآخرة حيث وجد العلماء في مقبرة توت عنخ آمون بعض أنواع الأسلحة.
