معنى اسم سوزان في اللغة العربية
اسم سوزان في قاموس اللغة العربية هو اسم علم مؤنث أعجمي، وقيل هو اسم عبري ومعناه الزنبقة الجميلة، وقيل هو اسم فارسي يعني: (الإبرة والمحرقة والمحترقة)، كما يعني في اللغة الفارسية سوسانا أي سوسن وهو اسم زهرة اللوتس في الحضارة المصرية القديمة.
حكم التسمية باسم سوزان في الشريعة الإسلامية
القاعدة في تسمية الأبناء في الإسلام، هو أن يكون الاسم من الأسماء المتعارف عليها في عهد الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم، ومن الأسماء التي لها أصول عربية، وبالنظر إلى اسم سوزان فهو من الأسماء الأعجمية التي ليس لها أصل في اللغة العربية، والعلماء يرون أن الأسماء الأعجمية التي ليس لها أصل لها في اللغة العربية يجب الابتعاد عن تسمية الأبناء بها.
ولكن إذا كان الاسم لا يحمل أي معنى يخالف الشريعة الإسلامية وما جاء به الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم فلا بأس من التسمية بهذا الاسم، ولكن الأولى أن يختار المسلم لأبنائه الأسماء الجميلة العربية التي تتضمن مدلول جميل، لا يحمل أي معنى من معاني الشرك.
