أنواع الخشب الزان، يعتبر خشب الزان ضمن لائحة الأخشاب ذات الجودة الرفيعة والعالية، إن لم يكن أفضلها حيث تقوم عليه صناعة أجود أنواع الأثاث، وذلك لأنه يمتلك صفات فريدة وفائقة ويدوم لفترات طويلة.

- ويمكن معرفة الخشب الزان وتمييزه عن طريق العديد من العلامات، وبمجرد النظر إليه، حيث تجد أنه يتماسك في تجانس وبنية واضحة ضيقة المسام، والعقد فاتحة ومستوية، وهي عبارة عن نسيج منفصل من الخشب يمكن إزالته أثناء النقل.
- ويعرف أيضا من خلال لونه، ويتميز هنا في مصر بلونه الأحمر والأبيض، وهو الشائع.
- ويتسم أيضا بعدم التأثر بالمياه أو أشعة الشمس، وعلى عكس الأنواع الرديئة لا يسمح بتراكم البكتيريا أو الطفيليات.
- يمكن معرفته أيضا عن طريق الصوت إذا كان منخفضا عند القرع أو النقر، أما إذا كان رديئا سيصدر صوتا مرتفعا أو ضجة عالية.
أنواع الخشب الزان
- الزان الروماني: وهو أغلى الأنواع الزان وأفضلها، ويعتبر أجود الأنواع حيث يستخدم في صناعة الأثاث الراقية، وفي أعمال النقوش التي تزين الأثاث.
- الزان الأمريكي: ويعد من أكثر الأنواع انتشارا واستخداما في صناعة الأثاث، وبخاصة عمل المكاتب.
- الزان الروسي: من أقوى انواع الخشب الزان المستخدمة في عمل الأبواب والنوافذ، حيث يتميز بقوته وصلابته وجودته العالية.
- الزان التركي: وهو أسوأ أنواع الخشب الزان وأقلها جودة، إلا أن أسعاره في متناول الجميع، ويستخدم بكثرة في صناعات مكملة وليست أساسية، كنوع خزفي مثل عمل الحلي الخاصة بالاثاث.
هل خشب الزان جميل؟
يعتبر خشب الزان هو أغلى أنواع الأخشاب سعراً وأكثرها استعمالا على نطاقات واسعة لتأطير الأثاث كما يدخل في صناعات أخرى، مثل:
- صناعة بعض أنواع البيرة، عن طريق حرق الحطب المصنوع من خشب الزان لتجفيف الشعير.
تدخين الجبن: وهو جبن تمت معالجته بشكل خاص عن طريق التدخين. - كما يمكن استخدام الأوراق الطازجة من شجر الزان في إعداد سلطة خضروات الطيبة.
- وكان يستخدم قديما في الكتابة قبل ظهور الورق، وبشكل شائع في المجتمعات الجرمانية.
- كما يستخدم في صناعة المعدات العسكرية، كبديل لخشب الجوز عندما لا يكون متوفرا.
- يتم استعمال خشب الزان أيضا في في تصميم الكراسي والطاولات.
- يستخدم خشب الزان في تصميم غرف النوم
- يستعمل خشب الزان في صناعة درابزين الدرج، وبعض التشطيبات الخشبية الأخرى الداخلية والخارجية.

ما هي عيوب الخشب الزان؟
ومن عيوب خشب الزان:
- التكلفة العالية: باستثناء النوع التركي منها.
- ثقيل الوزن: نظرا لصلابته ومتانته.
- قابل للاحتراق بسرعة: فكما تعد هذه النقطة ميزة في صناعات أخرى مثل تدخين الأكل وصناعة الشعير، تعد عيبا أيضا في بعض الصناعات الأخرى.
- غير مقاوم للرطوبة.
ما هو الخشب الزان الأحمر الروماني؟
وهو من أفضل أنواع الخشب الزان المعروفة، ويشتهر بلونه الأحمر الذي يميزه، كما يستخدم في:
- عمل الأثاث عالي الجودة
- فلا يمكن للأتربة أن تلتصق بتلك الأخشاب، نظرا لسطحه الناعم.
- فمن ناحية يمنع تراكم القاذورات ومن ناحية أخرى يمكن إجراء أي أعمال نظافة عليه بسهولة.
