في مقالة سابقة تعرفنا على قائد عسكري بحري من نوع فريد، يعتبر من أبرز شخصيات العصور الذهبية العثمانية خاصة عصر السلطان سليمان القانوني، خير الدين باشا أو بربروسا كما يعرف في بعض المراجع‘ أو كما قال عنه الكاتب جهاد الترباني، أحد زموز الجهاد البحري.
سنكمل في هذه المقالة أشهر المعارك التي خاضها بربروس، وسر انتصاراته حتي وإن لم تكن موازين القوة في صالحه، متربعا بذلك على نفوذ البجر النتوسط.
معركة بروزة أو بريفيزا
وكانت أعظم معارك بربروس البحرية، انتصاره في بريفيزا (اليونان) عام 1538 على أكبر أسطول بحري في العالم.
- الأطراف المقاتلة: أسطول بربروس ضد أساطيل فينيسا وجنوة وإسبانيا والبرتغال ومالطة ودولة البابا.
- الأسطول والتجهيزات: كانت السفن البحرية العثمانية ١٢٢ سفينة بقيادة بربروس مقابل ٦٠٠ سفينة حربية صليبية.
- عدد الجنود: 22 ألف جندي مسلم ضد 60 ألف جنديّ صليبي.
- المكان: بريفيزا ( اليونان ).
سر مهارة ونجاح أسطول بربروس
ذكرت دراسات تاريخية عن قرصان الجزائر الذي أصبح ملك البحار،الذي فتح الطريق لسيطرة العثمانيين على طرابلس وشرق البحر المتوسط، عن سر انتصاره في كل هذه المعارك، فكان بربروس يعتمد على استراتيجية تضمن له المواجهة والانتصار أو الصمود وإن كان العدو يفوق أسطوله في العدد والعداد، فنجح أسطوله الذي ضم 122 سفينة في هزيمة 300 سفينة للأساطيل المعادية.
وكان سر الانتصار أن تمتعت سفنه بقدرة أكبر على المناورة، بسبب اعتماده على السفن ذات المجاديف بدلا من السفن الشراعية التي تعمل بقوة الرياح.
مذكرات خير الدين بربروس
ومع متابعة التقييمات المختلفة حول الكتاب على موقع “goodreads” وهي شبكة اجتماعية تهتم بالكتب وبتوصيات وآراء المستخدمين حول الكتب والمؤلفين، نعرف أن الكتاب تم إملاؤه باللغة التركية العثمانية في عصر السلطان سليمان القانوني و بأمر منه، وقد حظى باهتمام المؤرخين والباحثين الغربيين والأتراك.
وتحكي هذه المذكرات التي تأخرت ترجمتها إلى العربية، رحلة وبطولة الأخوين خير الدين و عروج بربروس الطويلة في فتح الجزائر و الغزوات التي قاما بها سويا، وكانت لها صدى مفاجئ ومدوي في أوروبا، جعلت ملك الإسبان كارلوس يعنف قادته و أميرالاته بالقول: ” لقد جعلتموني مسخرة بين الملوك، فليس فيكم من يستطيع التصدي لبربروس..”.
أما عن النقاط السلبية التي اتفقت عليها معظم الآراء حول هذه المذكرات، كانت تدور في إطار المبالغة فى تمجيد السلطان سليمان القانوني من قبل بربروس، وقد أرجع ذلك البعض إلى العادة وقتها من تبجيل الملوك، فيما نسب البعض الآخر ذلك إلى شخصية بربروس نفسه، التركي السخي والأديب.
