بعد الانتهاء من شرف الخدمة بالقوات المسلحة المصرية يظل بعض المجندين الأبطال على قيد الاستدعاء حيث يتم نقلهم إلى مدة الاحتياط لمدة تسع سنوات حتى يتثنى لهم شرف خدمة الوطن مرة أخرى.

- ومن هذه الأسلحة سلاح حرس الحدود والمنوط به حماية الحدود المصرية من كل الاتجاهات وصد أي اعتداء ومحاربة عمليات التهريب التي تتم في نطاق تأمينهم وغيرها من المهام

سلاح الإطفاء وكذلك المطبوعات والنشر والتابعين لهيئة الإمداد والتموين كلها أسلحة لا يحق المجندين الملحقين بها العودة للخدمة مرة أخرى في فترة الاستدعاء أو لا يتم نقلهم إلى الاحتياط من الأساس
